Safari Electronique roll our release #44, which sees a welcome return for label head Arnaud Le Texier, who today teams up with London based Italian Antonio de Angelis on their 'Down Is The New Up' EP.
Arnaud Le Texier's 2010 got off to the best of starts with a highly successful Australian trip and the release of his 'Perfumes of Our Dead Times' EP on Safari and the hugely supported 'Ivory Machine' EP on D'Julz's Bass Culture imprint. Now Arnaud is working hard on new music and the future Safari catalogue.
The 'Down Is The New Up' EP sees the duo delivering four brand new original productions. 'The Sky Is Falling In' sees them mixing jazzy percussion and a dominant piano with a weighty kick drum to excellent effect. First up on the flip is the title track which opens with another muscular kick drum and an abrasive riff, that when joined by the heavy bassline creates a super groove. Added percussion and electronic snare rolls see it develop into a hypnotizing number.
'Observations' is a beautifully crafted builder. Bird noises greet us as the beat begins. The pulsing bass slowly grows and is joined by a delicate guitar line and spoken vocal. Never peaking, it presents itself as a perfect set builder. Closing the release we are given the digital exclusive Dub of 'The Sky Is Falling In'.

Kasper Bjørke is the Danish multi-talent whose second album "Standing On Top Of Utopia" was recently released on hfn music to much international applaus.
The beautyful, classic-analog meets cutting-edge-futuristic sound of the album has kick started a revolution in post-electronic stylings where songwriting and genuine musical ideas stand in the forefront of tough beats or unnerving trippyness. This remix package representsthis whole-heartedly, with three outstanding moments in fresh and addictive hybrid sounds, right in the time for summer!
"Heaven" was the touching, haunting song that Mr. Bjørke has perhaps become best known for of late. Now a certain Mr. Prins Thomas hands in his amazing "Diskomiks" version, which stretches out dreamly over 9 minutes in this honest and essentially timeless re-arrangement. Live guitar overdubs, drifting strings and soft, lazy vocals are in full effect!
Muzzle Flash`s version adds a little more pressure for the dancefloors, while still maintaining that slower, lazy vibe. This is modern disco house for real connaisseurs of the genre. With tension and perfectly-timed, careful measured builds and lifts, this remix boasts warm, room filling vibes with plenty of soul.
American sensation Nicolas Jaar contributes his remix of "Heaven" which boasts sone wonderful live instrumentation, airy, open sound design alive as the track floats onwards.
